It’s been a while since The Perps went green, but they’re finally back again at Brian Boru Irish Pub in Severna Park this Sunday, April 21, from 4 pm to 7 pm. As an extra special musical treat the band will be joined by guest singer Tyrone Armwood, who not only sings but also plays a mean trombone (and he’s got a green sweater, too). This will be an R&B-tinged version of the band’s famous “high spirits, low volume” groove that you won’t want to miss, so come on by and get into the swing of things – see you there!

Brian Boru Irish Pub is conveniently located right on 489 Ritchie Highway #103 in Severna Park.

Occasionally The Jazz Perpetrators pause in their ever-hopeful pursuit of fame and fortune to do some good for others. Specifically the band annually lends their dulcet tones to a cause near and dear to them, the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual fundraiser, the Java & Jazz, Tea & Tunes event, which is open to the general public. The Perps will be doing their hootin’ ‘n tootin’ from 3 to 5pm, joined by their vocalist, the one-and-only Sterling Dorn, who’s guaranteed to make it an afternoon to remember.

The sippin’ & swingin’ takes place this Sunday, March 10th, at the Cape St. Claire clubhouse located at 1223 River Bay Rd, Annapolis, Maryland. Refreshments include free appetizers and complimentary coffee and tea as well as wine and specialty adult coffee at an additional cost. While this is a free event, donations are deeply appreciated, so come on out and hear some great music and support a good cause.

A Holiday Gift from The Perps

Posted: November 28, 2023 in Latest News

No denying it – the holidays are coming up fast. Before you know it everyone’s going to be busy with shopping and decorating and office parties and everything else that fills up the calendar this time of year.

Although The Jazz Perpetrators will be playing private parties in December, their only public appearance until after the new year will be this Saturday, December 2, at the Gambrills location of Smashing Grapes Restaurant + Wine Bar (2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills, MD 21054 in the heart of the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre).

Unlike their usual performances at Smashing Grapes, this one will be a bit different. First of all, the band will play earlier in the evening (6-9pm), and as a special musical gift, the band will be featuring their crowd-pleasing vocalist, Sterling Dorn, as well as their special guest Grant Menefee on the drums.

Here’s your chance to give yourself a little gift while you still have two minutes to rub together, so stop by and treat yourself to some musical holiday cheer.

Perps ‘n’ Pirates

The Jazz Perpetrators are gonna squeeze in one last summer gig before fall sneaks up on us after Labor Day, and it’s gonna be a doozy. The Perps will play their final pre-fall fling this coming Sunday, September 3, from 5 to 8 pm at the dock bar at Pirates Cove in Galesville. This performance will feature vocalist Sterling Dorn who puts on a show like nobody else – when Sterling’s in the house, it’s always party time!

Pirates Cove is located south of Annapolis at 4817 Riverside Drive in Galesville. Come on down and savor that last sliver of summertime on the water before we all get inundated with pumpkins and Halloween costumes and candy. It may be called Pirates Cove, but you don’t have to have an eye patch or a parrot on your shoulder to enjoy the music – see you there!

Arrrrr…..is that a saxophone I hear??

The Jazz Perpetrators will be winding up their summer with a double-shot this weekend. First up will be a Saturday (8/26) evening performance at Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar, located in the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre (2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills, MD 21054). As with all shows at Smashing Grapes, this will be an all-instrumental performance (although the audience is encouraged to sing along if they know the words). As usual, the 3-hour performance starts at 8:30pm.

The next day, Sunday (8/27), The Perps will provide music for the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual “Wine Down at the Farm” fundraising event, held outdoors at the Farm at 1420 Cape St. Claire Road, Annapolis. The Perps have been lending their hands and horns to the GFPS for several years now and will appear in full force with their crowd-favorite vocalist Sterling Dorn. When Sterling’s there, it’s always a party. The Perps will play from 4 until 7pm, so come on out and support a good cause while enjoying good wine and song. There will be a great silent auction, chance to see what’s going on at the farm, and more. Details on the event can be found at http://www.goshenfarm.org. See you there!
